Cities: Skylines player has been building a dystopian city inspired by "1984" for about a year now
About a year ago reddit user Accomplished-Fig5904 embarked on this ambitious project to create a city that embodies the oppressive atmosphere of the iconic dystopia from the novel "1984". Over the past months, the player has shared several collections of screenshots showcasing the progress, with the latest update appearing recently.
The city features a gloomy architectural style and banners with symbolic imagery, effectively evoking a sense of oppression without appearing outright terrifying. It resembles less of a vibrant urban area and more of a vast militant hive. The latest screenshot collection reveals a partially destroyed city hosting a military parade.
While fans would love to see such creativity in Cities: Skylines 2, the official modding tools seem to be delayed, and it remains unclear when they will be released.
